ABOUT AIMÉE WOODS

Aimée Woods grew from my interest in natural materials, creative expression and the relationship between art and interior spaces. I work primarily with reclaimed pine and oak, creating one-of-a-kind wall artworks where the structure and character of the wood are an important part of the finished piece.

I grew up on a farm surrounded by forest, and my connection to nature has always been part of my visual language. I am particularly interested in the contrasts found in nature - the changing light, the structure of organic forms and the way materials develop over time.

I work intuitively with the wood, responding to its grain, knots, texture and natural variations rather than trying to make every piece uniform. Each composition is developed by hand, from the initial selection and cutting of the wood to the final joining and finishing.

My aim is to create artworks that bring texture, warmth and a strong material presence into contemporary interiors. Each piece is made as an individual work rather than as a reproduction, allowing the material itself to influence the final composition.
